Drawing and painting are the core to my art, the storyteller of one's soul. I work in many media: pencil, watercolor, oil, photography, printmaking, and collage. Each supports the other. I enjoy the freedom of line and expression, where the mark is honest, intuitive and the stroke becomes the form.
Layers of paint pencil marks and graphic compositions always inspire me. Letting the medium speak for itself and keeping paint fresh are always worthy challenges. I work in series with strong themes rarely returning to a painting once the thought has been completed. I enjoy African rhythms, the healing powers of salt water, Aborigine art, artists that persist, and vast western landscapes.
